It’s Mackenzie here! It was our second day in Spain. We feel lucky (except for Jacob) to have been able to acclimate pretty well to the time here. I think it helped that we were all so tired from traveling and it was actually night time when we went to sleep.
It was nice to walk around today to see where we were. We got lucky with our weather! It was nice and sunny. After our delicious breakfast we walked back for an afternoon nap (much needed) and then went back out to go see Sagrada Familia. My dad booked us a tour that ended up being amazing. It was such a beautiful place from the outside. They are still building the Basilica and I can see why. The detail that was put into it was incredible. When we walked in you were hit with the amazing colors of the stained glass windows (I really have not seen anything like it) and ceilings that looked like they never stopped. We went during the sunset hours which made the colors all red, yellow, and orange. When you go at different times it is lit up in different ways depending on the sun. We also had a tower tour there that we were all (well all but my dad, they wouldn’t let him go up because of his boot) able to go on. We took an elevator all the way to the top and saw some amazing views and then took 400 steps back down. It was a tight walk but worth it!
After, we stopped for some fresh churros and walked back to our apartment. We are still waiting for Jacob’s bag to arrive. Fingers crossed it will show up soon so Jacob can have more than one set of clothes…
aaannnd Jacob’s bag came right at the end of our dinner tonight! What was for dinner? Indian food! The restaurant was called Mayura, and it was oh so good. My dad wasn’t thinking he was a big fan of Indian food but tonight we proved him wrong! Some of the favorites included the tikka masala, the tandoori chicken, and delicious wine.
And that is a wrap for day 2. Hoping our neighbors 🐀 will keep it down tonight.
