Ronda December 23rd, Day 7 by Mackenzie

Today we drove from Granada to Ronda. We had a driver pick us up at our place and drive us to our door step in the heart of Ronda. It was fantastic. The drive was about  2 hours and was beautiful. Lots of sloping hillsides, olive trees, and greenery!

Once we got to Ronda we checked into our place and went looking for food. We walked about two minutes and found a restaurant to sit at and bonus it was outside in the sunshine. It is about 68 degrees here! Feels wrong knowing there is an ice storm back at home but we will take it! The food was great and filled us ready to adventure or for a nap 😴

We went and saw the bridge in Ronda that overlooks a big crevasse. It is beautiful, but also comes with a bit of a dark history… they used to keep prisoners here and when it was time they would throw them off the bridge. Yikes 😳 but it is a gorgeous view!

We were surprised by the amount of people that are here. It feels like the most we have seen and it’s the smallest place. I’m wondering if this is where locals come for Christmas? My mom and I walked around to the shops while the boys went and took some naps.

Once we we were all back together we ventured out to find some drinks and tapas but learned it was much too early so we settled with some crapes while we waited for the other places to open. Our first stop was called Dona pekita. Although delicious we were realizing we may not understand the whole tapas thing where you buy a drink and get food to go with it? We then went to another place. It looked like more local food. We ordered drinks and again tapas to go with them but not the way we had expected. That being said they were delicious!

With full belly’s we made our way back to end our first night in Ronda! Can’t wait to see what our second day brings.
