Seville Dec. 27 Day 11 Bryan

It’s hard to imagine that we are starting the end of our Spanish Adventure as we are coming to our last full day in Sevilla.

Since it’s my last time on the blog, let me say that it has been an incredible journey thus far. Learning how the Moorish, Jewish, and Arab people have all influenced each other here and at one time all lived peacefully. At the beginning of this trip David quoted Mark Twain

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

I am so fortunate that I have had the means and opportunity to travel across my own country and the world. If you are able to travel and experience new things, I highly suggest it.

Anyway, let me get back to our last day in Sevilla. Let me tell you, we actually tried to get an early start today, and we did…. at 10:00am…. Going back to school might be little tough…

We ate breakfast at Bio Mia! A cute little organic breakfast restaurant. We all, mostly, enjoyed the food there. I especially enjoyed my peanut butter waffles with fruit!

The day before we tried going to Real Alcazar, but found out we needed tickets. Today, we actually had them.

The Royal Alcazar has been touched by many religions faiths since it’s construction in the 11 century, some say it was earlier than that.

From the Moorish themes, to the gothic tapestries, to the ever present Charles the V eagle, you could feel all the detail it took to make this place beautiful.

For those Game of Thrones Fans, if you are thinking some of these pictures seem familiar, well then you are right! Scenes of Dorne, House Martell, and Mareen were shot here. However, I didn’t take upload all of the pictures of the scenes that were shot here, you will have to research yourself.

After taking naps, Mackenzie, Jacob, Marianne and I went to check out a local artesian shop. David had to rest his foot in preparation for Madrid’s Tapas walking tour. Jacob added to his collection of cups and we added a magnet.

Afterwards we enjoyed a night drink on the river. Sprinkle in a little game playing, dinner out, and ice cream; I think we ended our Sevilla stop the only way we know how.

Now it’s off to Madrid!
